Welcome to the Peto Public blog!

G'day girls and boys

This blog is designed to encourage people who were at Petersham Public School in the class that would have started Kindergarten in 1956 and finished 6th Class in 1963.

Some people were at Peto for 8 years.  Others would have come and went for only some of those years.  The common thing is we would all have been under the eye of Harry Baltins as the scary disciplinarian!   ;-)

Students of Petersham Public School from other years are also welcome to submit stories and photos of their time at our school.

  2. I remember Harry Baltins from around 1960-61 at PPS. We played in the playground across the road and he marched us over there in military fashion. If you were in the choir, you got a dispensation from picking up papers at lunchtime. We had a system of coloured badges, and if you were in the choir, you could note your badge accordingly.

I also remember Mrs Macarthur as my 1st grade teacher, and Heather Wridgeway as my Kindergarten teacher, and Mrs Pontifex from Year 2. Mr Wallen was the principal.
